St. Monica Catholic School is excited to start our 6th annual Reading-thon!

During this time we are motivating students to read more, both in the classroom and at home by pairing reading with a reward system. Participating students will all receive a St. Monica bookmark, students receiving $15 in donations will receive an out of uniform pass and students receiving $50 in donations and reaching their reading goal will be entered into a drawing to win an Amazon Kindle. Students will have additional entries into the drawing for each $50 raised.

Best of all, Principal Schommer will participate in the following activities as reading-thon goals are accomplished:

$2,500 - Principal reads a story to the students during the morning news

$5,000 - Principal dresses up like a super hero

$7,500 - Principal gets a Pie in the Face

$10,000 - Principal Dyes his hair a bright color and keep it in until the end of the Reading-thon

$12,000 - Principal dresses up in costume and sing a song while dancing live on Facebook & YouTube. The top 5 fundraisers and top 5 readers will be invited to be in the live video!

Past reading focused fundraisers raised money towards the purchase of a school bus, eagles nest renovations and PTO Gift and Grants Initiatives such as the new furniture in the art room. They have also raised money to update the playground and provide support for the Robotics Teams. This year we will be raising money to fund PTO events that directly benefit teachers and students.
